Pinacoteca Comunale, Assisi
The Pinacoteca Comunale (Municipal Picture Gallery) of Assisi is housed in rooms on the main floor of the Palazzo Vallemani, a splendid baroque building with frescoed ceilings from the early 17th century by painter from Umbria and Tuscany.
Inside the Pinacoteca Mediaeval and Renaissance frescos are on display from civil and religious buildings of Assisi and the surrounding area, together with some panel and canvas paintings from the 14th-16th centuries. The most important piece is a Maestà attributed to Giotto, but there are also paintings by Puccio Capanna, Ottaviano Nelli, Nicolò di Liberatore and Pietro Perugino.
