Monastery of Lucrezie, Todi
The complex of the Monastery of the Lucrezie (Lucretias) was created for the tertiary Franciscans between the 15th and early 16th centuries at the behest of Lucrezia della Genga and some other noble ladies of the city, who wished to live according to the Franciscan Rules.
The complex is built around a cloister that looks towards the convent of Montesanto and has wonderful views over the Tiber.
Over the years, the complex was adapted for a number of uses; since 2009 it has housed the Museo Lapidario of the City of Todi, where sculptures from the Roman, Mediaeval, Renaissance and Modern eras are on display, bearing testimony to over twenty centuries of the history of Todi.
