Church at Caprignone, Valfabbrica

As you come out of a wood a large church suddenly appears, with basic lines. According to some, this is where -in June 1223– the General Chapter of the Order discussed the new rule, later approved by Pope Honorius III in the bull titled “Solet annuere”.

The church was donated to St Francis by Jacopo Bigazzini, Lord of Coccorano.
